Ross McDonald (2015) graduated in June this year from Strathclyde University with an MEng (Masters) in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering with distinction.

He is currently undertaking a graduate engineering role with SP Energy Networks, which is going very well.  Ross has shared :-

“The graduate scheme with SP Energy Networks is going really well so far. I was able to complete the initial training and trade appreciation at ScottishPower’s training centre out in Cumbernauld which gave me the opportunity to meet the other grads in person - socially distanced of course - with a couple of them being OAs too. I have recently begun a project which will see me through to the New Year, when I will begin my rotations around the business to add to my experience of the various teams and see how they maintain, improve, and operate our electrical network. At the end of the two year grad scheme, I want to become an operational engineer - working out in the field - so that I can gain a real understanding of the Scottish Power’s network, how it works, and learn more about the assets deployed on the network”.

Ross has also narrated a video for ScottishPower which you can listen to here : https://bit.ly/3pA0i1z
